A Primitive Cat Cushion (pillow) I fashioned
after an early 1900s pillow as shown in the book "Seasons" which was in
the home of Messrs. Cramer and Johnson's Seven Gates Farm in Maryland.
Made of woven wool with embroidery floss
embellishment, the cushion/pillow measures 17" across from left to tip
of ear and 12" top to bottom from tip of ear to tail.
This could be used as a Halloween decoration

Belle LaGhosta is 34" and can hang or
sit. She can be used as a decoration from before Thanksgiving thru
Halloween since she has a Pilgrim look as well as friendly Witch.
Although it is hard to see, she is holding a very small Indian Corn on
her left and a hang tag which has a copy of a vintage photo of two girls
having a tea party with jack-O-lanterns.
Belle's bodice is painted on, her nose is
appliqué, lips have been primitive stitched on, eyes are buttons and

The Wytch and Pumpkin fall hooked piece is an adaptation of a
design by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm. Originally designed
as a needle punch design I have adapted it to a hooked piece which
measures 17 1/2" x 14". It is hooked using 1/4" wool strips on
primitive linen backing. It is hooked with a combination of as is

What a great candy pouch for a young girl
which can be used as an Autumn Pumpkin Purse for mom. It measures
8 1/2" across the top and 7 1/4" down the middle. It is made of
medium weight canvas on the outside, which has been painted with
acrylics and antiqued. There is a color coordinated lining and
small inside pocket to accommodate car keys, lipstick or change.

Wanda the Wayward Witch is 35 1/2" tall and
can either hang by a ribbon or sit. She is made of woven cotton
and stuffed with fiberfill. Her facial features are painted, as
are her stripped legs, shoes and hat.
Pinned to her dress is a sack which reads
"Spider Eggs" and a hang tag which has a copy of two vintage pictures.
One side is one girl holding a jack-O-lantern and on the other side is a
picture of two little girls having a tea party with two jacks.

Acorn Pincushions & Needle Keeps


The Acorn Pincushions can be used any time of
the year as they are very functional and have an earthy appeal to them.
They are 7 1/2" tall, made with wool as the
acorn cap and woven cotton for the nut part. One is on a ceramic
base (left) while the others have a stem. The decorative stitching
is done with embroidery floss.
