Patriotic Sand Pails

Patriotic Sand Pails was hooked by me using 1/4" wide wool strips and is a design by Polly Minick.  It measures 23 1/2" x 20".  The border is a combination of the stars and chevrons in deep red and navy blue. 

What a great design for a beach house as a gift or for yourself.  It would make a great wall hanging, floor rug or to display on a chest or table top.  Would also make an excellent gift to someone in the military.  Yours for $290 plus shipping.

Circle Whimsy

The Circle Whimsy Table Runner measures 10" x 35" and is a design by Brenis Thompson.  It is hooked using #8 cut wool strips (1/4") using both hand dyed and as is wool.

Patriotic Hat and Stars

Patriotic Hat and Stars rug is a design by Polly Minick with her wool choices and hooked by me.  It is hooked on primitive linen using 1/4" wide wool strips. 

The piece could be used as a wall hanging on patriotic holidays, a gift to someone in or just retired from the military or someone just retired from the military.

This piece measures 18 1/2" x 21 1/2" and is $250 plus shipping.

This America heart pillow can either hang on the wall, or used as a decorative pillow.  The front of the heart is red velveteen  and blue & white calico on the back.  White wool lettering has been hand appliquéd.

Made of woven cotton and stuffed with fiberfill these birds are approximately 7" long from beak to tail, have button eyes and wool yarn for hanging.  $5 ea

Uncle Sam may either hang on the wall or sit. He is made of cotton with felt jacket which is embellished with rusty bells.  His pants are woven cotton which has been lightly tea dyed.  His hat and feet have been painted and lightly sanded, a rusty star is attached to the front of the hat.  Sam is 24" tall, has a needle sculpted nose and  fingers.  Facial features are a combination of acrylic paint and  pigma pen. 

His hair and beard is natural curly wool locks.  The flag is handmade to look primitive and is stitched to a limb. Uncle Sam is $50 plus shipping.

Sam the Tax Man has been out collecting his money for relief of the National Debt.  He's holding a bag of cash and will be driving the Brink's truck to Washington.

Sam is 30 1/2" tall, may either hang on the wall or sit. His nose is needle sculpted, had black beads for eyes, primitive stitched mouth and wool roving for hair and beard.  His hat and pants have been painted and tea dyed.  He wears a cotton woven shirt which is covered with a dusty blue felt jacket.  I hardly ever use glue, but his rusty star embellishments on his jacket are glued on.  His shoes have been painted and lightly sanded.  Sam the Tax Man is my rendition of a LaCroix design.  $70 plus shipping.

Betsy is made with quality woven cotton for her body and dress, the bloomers are made from a reclaimed linen.  It is hard to see from this picture, but her bodice has stars and the flounce at the hip is blue and grey stripe.  The luggage tag she is holding spells out AMERICA.

Her facial features are stitched using floss, her hair is wool roving.  She has stitched fingers.  Betsy may either hang on the wall or sit.  She is 23" long and can celebrate our nation's holidays with you for $45 plus shipping.

Miss America on the left is holding a flag on which ' God Bless America' is stitched.  Lady America, on the right is wearing an apron which has primitive embroidery stitching on the bottom.  Their bodies and clothing are made of tea dyed cotton.  Their hair is wool roving which has been stitched on. Their noses are needle sculpted with painted facial features and blushed cheeks.  Shoes have been painted on and lightly sanded.
